Dream Bird
"Boredom is the dream bird that hatches the egg of experience. A rustling in the leaves drives him away." -Walter Benjamin
The production of Dream Bird and all other work deriving from the notion of boredom requires the continual fostering of a nest for receptivity. Limited by the below-freezing temperature of Chicago, I retreated to the aesthetics of domestic play, questioning the importance and possibility of ordinary objects and interiors. Unconventional gestures soon formed new relationships between routine movements, materials, and the body. This is an ongoing series created within various homes I inhabit.
